In my lyrical poetry the fragmentation of words on the page
embodies the scattering of the self into multiple voices and identities.
My experimental poems are non-linear
and destabilize the traditional flow of Romantic verse.
The multiplication of puns and the juxtaposition of polysemous phrases
weave and unweave a fabric of unsettling images.
The dense sensuous texture of overlayered verbal and visual fragments
immerses the viewer in the flow of a multiverse.
In my multimedia practice poetry, visual arts and music intertwine
to give rise to a heterocosm in perpetual change.
My videopoems dramatize the dispersal of language in motion.
I am inspired by Hart Crane's fusion
of Romanticism, Symbolism and Modernism
in a "transmemberment of song",
by Robert Duncan & Jess's collage practice in poetry and visual arts,
by Paul Celan's short poems,
by Octavio Paz's surreal romantic love lyrics
and by Rosmarie Waldrop's postmodernist prose poems.
Your face, tonelessly averted
drifts me to capsized boats
salvaged dreams of hovering between
layers of your skin
I pace the shore for wordshells
rustveined and voice-soaked
cast away, reclaimed—
No one will stem the tide
as i stand on the edge
headlong flights undersea
Stained words in tin mouths
for tarnished voices and rusty days
encrustations of strained thoughts
sudden glances: flung-off stone chips
from crust to core, stun me
reel off with daylight
bare to the bone, unnerve me
the sky opens fields of eyes
restless birds in flight
settling on floating isles
faces being born with new names
sudden glances: hailstorm
